Post Treatment

Day of treatment

This is a monthly treatment and Jacqui is usually booked up well in advance so don’t forget to book your next treatment on your way out! On the day of treatment do not apply any make up. You do not need to apply anything to your skin that day as it’s packed full of products. If you are exposed to the sun the apply SPF 50 every two hours.

Use SPF 50 Daily on your face and apply two hourly when exposed to the sun.

Homecare

Exercise or vigorous physical activity should be avoided until all redness has subsided. Direct sunlight exposure is to be completely avoided immediately following the treatment (including any strong UV light exposure or tanning beds). Although SPF 50+ should already be a part of your daily skin care, after Dermaplaning, SPF 50+ must be applied daily to the treated area for a minimum of two weeks. Ongoing home care maintenance is essential to keep your skin at its best. Remove make-up as soon as is viable and ensure thorough cleansing, toning and moisturising at least twice daily. If you have additional questions or concerns regarding your treatment or suggested home regimen, please consult your aesthetician immediately.

Finally, enjoy your fresh face!

Lots of love, Jacqui x

FAQS

Dermaplaning is a form of manual exfoliation without the use of suction or abrasive crystals. A sterile blade is stroked along the skin at an angle to gently ‘shave off’ dead skin cells from the epidermis. Your treatment will be performed by a medically qualified professional which we feel is vital when in possession of a medical grade instrument! Dermaplaning also temporarily removes the fine vellus hair of the face, leaving a very smooth surface. As with any type of exfoliation, the removal of dead skin cells allows home care products to be more effective, reduces the appearance of fine lines, evens skin tone and assists in reducing milia, closed and open comedones, and minor breakouts associated with congested pores. Another huge benefit is the improvement of make-up application... think flawless! Dermaplaning can be an effective exfoliation method for clients that have couperose (tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin), sensitive skin or allergies that prevent the use of microdermabrasion or chemical peels. Due to the contours of the face, certain areas of the face (such as the eyelids) are not treatable using this method.

I already get toxin treatment and fillers so should I have this treatment?

Dermaplaning is a great way to look after your skin. It is paramount we look at every day maintenance of skin as opposed to being heavily reliant on injectable treatments to fix the lines and wrinkles. Besides great skin is the foundation to showcase your cosmetic enhancements.

Is satisfaction guaranteed?

As with all treatments, we cannot guarantee results. I can tell you my safety record and retention of clients is impeccable. Check out the website and social media pages to see what other clients have to say. I have never had anyone unsatisfied with the dermaplaning treatment.

What can you expect during treatment?

At the start of your appointment you will be asked to sign consent to treatment forms. Your skin and medical history will be assessed to ensure you are suitable for treatment. Treatment begins with thoroughly cleansing the face followed by controlled scraping of dead skin cells and vellus hair. To finish it will be the bespoke facial or application of products of your choice as per dermaplaning menu.
